RE - The Month of The Rosary

The Month of The Rosary

This week in RE I had to make something for October using any digital tool, like google docs or something like that, I chose to use google drawings and since October is 'The month of the Rosary' I have made a google drawing about the Rosary, I also made a google drawing about the four Mysteries, Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous. Here is my work for the two tasks:

The Luminous Mysteries:

The Baptism in the Jordan - God proclaims Jesus is His Son.

The Wedding at Cana - Jesus performs a miracle at a wedding.

The Proclamation of the Kingdom - Jesus calls us to do something important.

The Transfiguration - Jesus is gloriously transformed.

The Institution of the Eucharist - Jesus shares His Body and Blood for our salvation.

Question: Do you know how to pray the Rosary?

Natalie's writing task.

Welcome to the wondrous world of Natalie! Today I will be your tour guide, yes, the one and only Natalie is your tour guide through the wondrous world of Natalie! Lucky, huh? Today I explain/show what I did for writing! Do you have your ticket? Thank you -- carry on to the line below, please. (Watch your head!)⬇

The writing goal for this week was to:

use visual language features to engage the audience.

And the task was to:
You will be creating a static image about Matariki that uses visual and verbal features to convey an idea.
And yes, my hub is learning about Matariki. 😁
For this task I used Google Drawings, which is the same digital tool I use whenever I need to make poster or something. Thank you for visiting the wondrous world of Natalie! You are now going to be the first(not true) people to see my work. Enjoy! 😁

Natalie's reading task.

Hey there! Welcome to my blog! Today I will explain/show you what I did for reading!

The reading goal for this week was to:
Retell a story and Summarise a text.
And the task was to:
Retell a story about Matariki using any digital tool.
And yes, my hub is learning about Matariki. 😁
Since we were able to use any digital tool I used Google Slides. The teachers put a link to stories we could retell, I chose The Little Kiwi's Matariki. Here is my work embedded onto my blog. Enjoy. 😁

term 2 week 8; reading

The goal/task for this week was to learn how to write a proper email. I have made a google slide presentation saying what you should put in an email. I have also added a tiny metaphor into the slide -- Here is the presentation, you just have to click the slide to start it.

Question: Have you ever sent an email?

term 2 week 8; math

This week for numeracy I made a screencastify! I made the screencastify about how to round decimals to the nearest whole number! If you don't know what a decimal is then here is an example of one -> 124.9 or 312.3,  it doesn't have to be that exact pattern of numbers though.  Here is the link to the screencastify (there's no sound).

Question: Are you able to answer these decimals?
1. 573.8=?
2. 962.1=?
3. 76.4=?
4. 111.1=?
5. 6969.14623=?

Can you do it?
(:

math term 2 week 5

My goal for math is: round decimals to the nearest whole number. I had to create a poster using any digital tool. Here is a screenshot.

Term 2 Week 5 - Writing

For writing the task was similar to the task for reading, they're both about Mary but instead of a timeline I did an information report, I have done a lot of research for this and it was actually quite fun! Here is the link to my work, link. I hope you like it!

Term 2 Week 5 - Reading

For this week's reading task I have made a timeline of Mary's life, it actually took a while to figure out how to use the animations, but I got the hang of it! It was really fun making this slide especially making the animation for the title page! Here it is:

anzac day

ANZAC Day is a day we all commemorate. This week of online school I have been researching, learning, and sharing about the wonders of ANZAC Day. Here is a link to the slide I have made in honor of ANZAC Day!

probability

This week for numeracy I have been learning about probability Here is a link to the word question that I have created.

:)

mascot

My reading task this week was: 'what would be your mascot?'. I chose a Philippine eagle!
I traced the Philippine eagle using an image. But since I didn't do the spikes on its head, it just looks like a regular American eagle.

Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday I woke up at around 9:34 or something. My family joins the online mass that happens every week. The mass goes live at around 10:00. I take a huge amount of time to eat breakfast so I had to eat breakfast after the mass ended. During mass the Priest talked about how Jesus has risen from the dead after his crucifixion and how Easter is a time to commemorate how Jesus died for our sins and to pray for the people who unfortunately have lost or have Covid-19. When the mass ended I ate breakfast. And because of quarantine my family didn't do the Easter egg hunt. I don't really intend to do an Easter egg hunt. After which we asked dad to make us brownies -they were good.

life in lock down

Life in Lock down
_____________________________________________________

Lock down has its ups and downs. I can stay inside and sleep in but the downside of sleeping in and staying inside is that my social skills lower every minute, but sleeping in, there's no downside to that. I can start a new series on Netflix but always run out if things to watch, so that's when I turn to YouTube and start watching bloopers of the series I've been watching on Netflix. I'm going to list things now. The downsides are running out of food, getting bored every time I start a new series, the only people I interact with (other than my family) are other online UNO players, face the fact that my bike is gathering up dust in the garage, constantly having to charge things and always way to lazy to do anything. The upside is that I stay inside, I can get onto higher levels on TotM, sleeping in (again!), bonding more with my family, being able to chill out in front of the fireplace at times.

board or bored games

I have decent board games in my closet, Mousetrap, Jenga, Snakes & Ladders - that's all I can remember (I don't play board games very often). But if I were to say which one were my favorite it would be Mousetrap. I would also recommend to play Mousetrap, though it's been 4 or 5 years since I have played that game and lost some of the game pieces, but it's still really fun! And why would I recommend this game to you? Well, it made some pretty beautiful memories of me and my parents, and it would be a decent bonding moment with them! THE END

would you rather

WOULD YOU RATHER BE A ZOO KEEPER OR A SPY
I would rather be a zoo keeper because I could interact with animals other than online UNO players. Animals are a bit ambiguous, so it would be cool if I were to befriend an animal. And I know that could just buy a dog, cat or bird but I don't really want to be friends with an animal that can just walk in on me while I'm on the toilet. But on the other hand taking care of lions and tigers would be really cool! Zoo keeping is a really unique job - taking care of just mentioned animals and other would awesome! Nevertheless whatever reason it was to be a zoo keeper; to create more relationships with animals, to take care of them, I would still be a zoo keeper!

to make a jolly jar you have to go really far!

This term, our Project Based Learning (PBL) started with the teachers putting us into groups. In these groups we had to work collaboratively to create Jolly Jars for the school fair. This task helped us to begin exploring our PBL question for the term - How can we build community through our actions? We had to research ideas, be creative with our product, experiment with our materials and write instructions that could be followed by others.

Here is a link to my instructions.

I learnt that instructions need to be specific, the instructions have to be in order and really bossy.

Reflection on PBL:
For our Jolly Jar my group made origami for the school fair.

I contributed to my group by helping to make a logo and helping debate which product to do.

Our Jolly Jar was creative because though a decent amount of people did origami our group did a unique piece. It was creative because my group made paper whales, rabbits, dogs -- etc.

What I learned about working with others was that not everyone has the same opinion. And that it helps you to connect with people you don’t usually interact with.

How did we build community through our actions?

By making jolly jars for the school fair. The school used the jolly jars I made to sell at the fair to raise money for the bike track that’s being built.

me and my group.
